I can't sleep tonight for I worry about tomorrow.
I know that I can not predict the future of those I hold dear.
I can't sleep tonight for I have worries and pain.
I know that I can take a pill, at will,
To numb myself if even for a moment.
But, I know, too soon, I can't sleep tonight.
I can get up to start a day that I am unsure of
Or I can try to sleep and hope I can find rest, if it exists.
